Announcements
Dear Parents & Families,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent Parent & Family Webinars. As families continue to reflect on the tragic events of Dec. 13, we deeply appreciate the care, thoughtfulness and candid questions you brought to our conversations about students’ return to campus and the start of the spring semester.
We are writing to share the recording of our second Parent & Family Webinar, Returning to Campus: Academic Support and Flexibility, held on Friday, Jan. 16. Along with the video, we have included three sets of FAQs that address common questions raised by families during these webinars on three overarching themes: Campus Safety and Security, Academic Support and Well-Being Resources. They address vital topics such as academic advising, mental health resources, campus safety measures and guidance on how families can best seek support or raise concerns, and all can be accessed from this single page on the Campus Life website.
As students return to classrooms and the spring semester begins, we will be presenting our standard Parent & Family Winter Webinar programming. We will also remain attentive to the evolving academic and emotional needs of our community and will offer additional programming as needed. These sessions are designed to provide timely information and connect families with campus partners around topics that support students’ academic and personal journeys.
Registration information for upcoming webinars focused on Study Abroad and Career Exploration will be shared early next week. These sessions will offer an overview of opportunities, timelines and resources available to students, along with guidance for families on how to support their students as they explore these options. Recordings of all webinars are available on the Parent & Family Webinars page following each event.
Thank you for your partnership, your care for your students, and your trust as we move forward together. We remain committed to partnering with you and your student(s). If any questions or concerns arise, we encourage you to reach out to family@brown.edu.
