Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) provides individualized, non-clinical guidance and support for undergraduate, graduate and medical students throughout their time at Brown.

Students can meet with a dean to talk through questions, decisions, transitions or concerns; better understand their options; and connect with resources at Brown and in the community. SSS also provides consultation and resources for family members, faculty, staff and others supporting a student.

Office of Student Recovery and Care

The Office of Student Recovery and Care (OSRC) provides a dedicated point of contact and individualized coordination for students most directly affected by the events of December 13, 2025.

OSRC works with students to coordinate academic, health, financial, residential and other University resources based on their individual needs.

Student Support Services and the Office of Student Recovery and Care work closely together: SSS continues to serve the broader student population, while OSRC provides dedicated support for a defined group of students.

Peer Support

Peer support programs offer students opportunities to connect with trained fellow students who can provide guidance, information and a listening ear.

Brown’s peer counselors draw on shared experiences, interests and perspectives to help students navigate aspects of campus life and connect with additional resources when appropriate.
