Biography
VP Carey leads the Division of Campus Life and Brown's Planning and Policy.
Russell Carey serves as the Interim Vice President for the Division of Campus Life, effective June 6, 2024. In this role, he provides stability during a transitional period for a large division of more than 20 departments, offices, and centers that work with and support students, faculty, staff, parents and families. The division centers on building inclusive community, cultivating developmental advising and mentoring, fostering health and wellbeing, embedding equity and inclusion, and advancing operational excellence.
Russell is the Executive Vice President for Planning and Policy at Brown University. In this role, he works closely with President Christina H. Paxson, the provost, the executive vice president for finance and administration, the Corporation, and members of the community to ensure effective University-wide efforts in planning and policy, in keeping with the University’s overall mission.
