Mary C. Jordan
Biography
As the inaugural Director of Student Experience, Mary Jordan (she/her) leads Brown University’s orientation and transition programs and collaborates across the Division of Campus Life to deliver a cohesive, data-informed, and evidence-based student experience. She is also developing and implementing a co-curriculum for student leaders that aligns with Brown’s core values.
Before joining Brown, Mary served as an assistant professor of social and behavioral sciences at Santa Fe College, where she taught and conducted research on personal and organizational leadership, global career development, learning mindsets, and equitable student success outcomes. She continues to teach and advise doctoral students in the University of Florida’s College of Education.
Mary’s favorite part of her work is partnering with Brown’s brilliant, diverse, and creative students to build a campus community where every student feels a deep sense of belonging and the opportunity to thrive. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, kayaking, knitting, reading, and solving Sudoku puzzles.
